Korea Kiosk Survival Guide — 3 Types You'll Actually Use

Type 01 — Tabletop Kiosk

  1. A tablet is fixed to your table — order without going to the counter
  2. Common in Korean BBQ, family restaurants, some fast-food chains
  3. No cash accepted on most tabletop kiosks — card only

Steps

1. Tap the language icon (flag or 언어)

2. Browse menu, tap item to add

3. Adjust quantity/options

4. Tap cart icon

5. Confirm and pay by card

Type 02 — Standing Shared Kiosk

  • One or more touchscreen stands near the entrance — the standard fast-food kiosk
  • If a line forms, staff usually help direct traffic — don't hesitate to ask
  • Cash sometimes accepted (bill slot) but not always — card is safest

1. Tap screen to start

2. Select language (top corner)

3. Choose dine-in or take-out

4. Browse categories, add items

5. Review cart

6. Pay by card or mobile pay

7. Take your receipt/number, wait for call

Type 03 — QR Code Mobile Order

  • Scan the QR code on your table with your phone camera — no app download needed in most cases
  • Growing fast in cafes and casual dining since 2023
  • If the QR code won't scan, check for a printed short URL as backup

Steps

1. Open camera app, point at QR code

2. Tap the link that appears

3. Select language in the web menu

4. Browse and add items

5. Pay directly in the browser (card or mobile pay)

6. Food is brought to your table automatically

Common Tips

  • Language icon usually looks like a globe or flag icon, top corner of screen
  • "매장" = dine-in, "포장" = takeout — this choice affects pricing at some places
  • Card payment (Visa/Mastercard) is accepted almost everywhere kiosks are used
  • Don't worry about making mistakes — most kiosks let you edit your cart before paying

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

05_kiosk_1_intro.png]

05_kiosk_2_tabletop.png]

순서

05_kiosk_3_standing.png]

순서
